During the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin a Commission for the state of emergency approved the list of businesses that will resume work on May 4. The decision was based upon discussions with Ministry of Health and regional mayors.
In his report, Minister of Health Yelzhan Birtanov provided the latest updates on sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country, following which Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov proposed further mitigation of restrictive measures in the quarantined regions.
Among businesses that were granted permission to start working on May 4 in all regions of Kazakhstan are non-food stores with an area of up to 500 square meters (until 5:00 p.m.), photo studios, floral shops, barbershops, medical centers, dental clinics, real estate companies, advertising agencies, lawyers, notaries, microfinance organizations, insurance companies, pawnshops, currency exchange offices, information and communication technology companies.
In addition, starting May 4, Kazakh airlines will resume some domestic flights, including from Nur-Sultan and Almaty to Kyzylorda, Petropavlovsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey. Flights will be carried out with enhanced sanitary standards, fewer passengers and special remote seating in the cabin.
Akimats (regional mayor’s offices) were tasked to take appropriate measures to ensure proper control of sanitary and epidemiological safety. The Commission also discussed implementation of investment projects in emergency situations and foreign trade operations.
