Additional 500 beds for coronavirus patients have been made available in one of the capital’s biggest hotels that was converted into a temporary hospital by local authorities amid COVID-19 pandemic, Toppress.kz correspondent reports. Speaking at a press briefing on July 7, Kazakh capital’s mayor Altai Kulginov said 60% of beds are already taken by patients with COVID-19.
We opened additional 500 beds at the Ramada Plaza hotel, of which over 60% are already occupied by patients,” Kulginov said. “In case the epidemiological situation gets worse, additional beds will be available, he added.
We also prepared for the urgent deployment of more than 1,000 beds at the hostels of our educational institutions. We are currently working on that with our sanitary doctors, the mayor explained.
