On May 4, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree appointing Aida Balayeva, his former assistant, as Minister of information and social development, Toppress.kz correspondent reports citing akorda.kz.
Earlier in the day Dauren Abayev, who served as Minister of information and social development, was appointed as First Deputy Chief of the Presidential Administration.
Aida Balayeva was born in 1974 in Almaty region. She graduated from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and the Kazakh National Agrarian University.
In 2008-2010, Balayeva worked as Head of Domestic Policy Department of Astana. In 2010-2014, she served as Deputy Mayor of Astana. In 2014, she was the Head of Internal Policy Department of the Presidential Administration. Starting from 2017, Aida Balayeva worked as Secretary of the National Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Prior to becoming the Minister of Information and Social Development, she served as Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan.
