The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kazakhstan totalled 7,234 — with more than 3,300 considered active, Toppress.kz correspondent reports citing www.coronavirus2020.kz. A total of 35 deaths have been reported since the pandemic began.
According to the latest official data, the total number of confirmed cases in the country reached 7,234 including in:
·Nur-Sultan – 1403,
·Almaty – 1966,
·Shymkent – 508,
·Akmola region — 135,
·Aktobe region — 233,
·Almaty region — 238,
·Atyrau region — 816,
·East Kazakhstan region — 59,
·Zhambyl region — 222,
·West Kazakhstan region – 352,
·Karaganda region – 300,
·Kostanay region – 110,
·Kyzylorda region — 266,
·Mangystau region — 164,
·Pavlodar region – 176,
·North Kazakhstan region — 39,
·Turkestan region – 247.
At the moment, 3,835 people are considered recovered. According to the Chief State Sanitary Doctor Aizhan Yesmagambetova, Kazakhstan’s low mortality rate from COVID-19 can be explained by late introduction and spread of the virus in the country and extensive testing of high-risk groups.
