Kazakhstani military doctors have arrived in Beirut, Toppress.kz reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
Chargé d'Affaires of Kazakhstan in Lebanon Yerzhan Kalekenov, Lebanese Army Command representative, Brigadier General Elias Abi Karam, and diplomat Ali Al-Dirani from the Lebanese Foreign Ministry Command met the delegation at the Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut.
“We appreciate the noble gesture of Kazakhstan in providing effective assistance to Lebanon and express our sincere gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the assistance and support,” Ali Al-Dirani, Lebanese Foreign Ministry’s spokesman said.
In April 2020, during the COVID-19 state of emergency, special military medical units were created in Kazakhstan. They are designed for prompt response and special tasks of the Armed Forces. Military doctors have already performed tasks in various regions of the country, and have been now sent to Lebanon to provide medical assistance to the Lebanese people, Kazakh Ministry of Defense’s press service noted.
