Addressing the press briefing on July 27, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Azamat Askaruly said “the new harvest, a decrease in demand for dairy and meat in favor of fruits and vegetables and introduction of a number of restrictions on the export of food have led to a decrease in food price inflation,” Toppress.kz correspondent reports.
Effective tools to restrain prices, along with setting price caps during a state of emergency, are the ‘turnaround scheme’, the formation of stabilization funds, thoughtful logistics and digitalization of the supply chain, he said.
As the Vice Minister stated, since the beginning of the year, 17.42 billion tenge has been allocated from local budgets to finance soft loans in line with a ‘turnaround scheme’ to retail chains obliging them to curb prices for socially significant food products.
In order to develop efficient trade logistics, which “is aimed at solving the existing imbalances in ensuring food security and reducing the final price on food products, the Ministry of Trade initiated the creation of a national distribution system, Azamat Askaruly noted.
