A footage of an unidentified man calling himself Captain Quarantine, urging people to stay home and spraying sanitizer on the hands of bypassers appeared online, Toppress.kz correspondent reports with reference to Tengrinews.kz.
A new superhero was recorded by one of the residents living in the micro district Zhagalau in Nur-Sultan. “Dear residents, I am Captain Quarantine. I am asking you to stay home. The coronavirus can kill us, therefore we should all stay home. As simple as that,” the man was shouting while walking along residential areas and streets of the city.
The author of the footage, whose name is Nurlan, said initially he got scared of shouting in the streets. “I got out to see what was going on and saw a man in a protective suit and a funny cape, who was calling himself a superhero and explaining safety precautions to everyone. Initially I thought one of the local residents was joking this way. I took a video and sent it to the neighbours’ chat. But they were all surprised themselves,” he said.
Later in the day, Captain Quarantine was seen in other parts of the city. On one of the footages he meets a passerby, sprays hand sanitizer on his hands and asks: “Can’t you stay home?”
Then the neighbours told me that he took the garbage from one of the tenants and told him to go home. We got really interested in who this man was. Maybe someone from the Health Inspection Services,” Nurlan says. He also noted none of the neighbours reacted negatively, on the contrary, the man raised people’s spirits and made the city residents laugh. “In fact, we are all facing difficult times now, not only in our country, but in the entire world. When something positive happens, it is great. Everyone was laughing, smiling and wishing Captain Quarantine to continue his fight against coronavirus, he concluded.
