Kazakhstan’s Anti-Corruption Service announced an investigation is underway against employees of the Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC, Toppress.kz correspondent reports.
“The Nur-Sultan Anti-Corruption Service has launched a pre-trial investigation against officials of Baiterek NMH JSC and other individuals regarding the theft of budget funds allocated for consulting services to transform a business model of a subsidiary of the National Agency for Technological Development JSC amounting to 197 million tenge,” investigator of the Anti-Corruption Agency Daniyar Bigaydarov said.
Baiterek Holding is an integrated development institution that includes 11 subsidiaries: 10 joint-stock companies with 100% holding participation. As part of the direct investment in company’s capital, the holding also has various ownership interests in 48 companies. The only shareholder of Baiterek is the government of Kazakhstan.
