The head of state was informed about the main results of the activities of the Astana International Financial Center in developing the financial market, protecting the rights and interests of investors and consumers of financial services, as well as trade and investment cooperation, Toppress.kz reports citing Akorda.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed out the importance of the AIFC effective work in the context of the tasks of restoring and ensuring further economic growth after the crisis.
In this regard, the President instructed to actively use the potential of the Center to attract investment and develop the stock market in the light of the upcoming privatization of state assets. It was also noted the need to ensure access for businesses to use the AIFC court and arbitration to resolve economic disputes.
The head of state drew attention to the need for close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign representations of the country to promote the AIFC investment tax residency program.
Kairat Kelimbetov said that the ecosystem of the Center is fully formed, its stable functioning in the online mode under the conditions of quarantine measures is ensured. According to him, for the first time in Kazakhstan, previously unused financial instruments were introduced: bonds denominated in CNY were issued, cross-listing of sukuk – Islamic securities – was carried out.
Following the meeting Kasym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of specific tasks for the further development of the AIFC.
