On June 1, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on the International Day for Protection of Children, Toppress.kz correspondent reports citing official Twitter account of the President.
This holiday reminds adults of their responsibility for the well-being, health and safety of the younger generation. Every child in our country deserves love, joy and a happy childhood, Tokayev wrote.
The 1st of June International Day for Protection of Children is recognized in many places around the world, to honour children globally. It was set in 1925 year during the World Conference for the Protection of Children in Geneva.
Protection of children’s rights is fixed in many international documents and resolution, including UN General Assembly Declaration of the Rights of the Child adopted in 1959 and Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted in 1989.
