On June 15, mayor of Nur-Sultan Altai Kulginov addressed residents through a social media post on his official Facebook page and the city’s website, Toppress.kz correspondent reports. In his words, given the epidemiological situation and an increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the city’s coronavirus emergency response team has reviewed a number of issues.
“First, it was decided to introduce additional 400 provisional beds for infected patients. Secondly, after an online meeting with doctors of public and private clinics, heads of hospitals and the city’s chief sanitary doctor, we have decided to use teleconference in medical treatment of asymptomatic carriers of coronavirus,” he said.
Altai Kulginov noted authorities continue isolating air passengers arriving from abroad. Since March 22, Ramada Plaza hotel has special rooms equipped as medical facilities. He also stressed organizations need to urgently switch to remote working and ensure compliance with strict sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
“Citizens must comply with strict health requirements: wear masks in crowded places, especially indoors, avoid crowded places, use antiseptics and observe social distancing. Non-observance of sanitary rules can cause an immediate outbreak of infection that will spread throughout the city. In that case, we will have to return to a strict quarantine regime,” he stressed.
