In an interview with the Ana Tili newspaper President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev urged Kazakhstanis to break their habit of hosting celebrations and “feasting at every opportunity,” Toppress.kz correspondent reports.
“Now is not the time to host feasts. At the time of technological progress, we should get rid of the habit of feasting and boasting on any occasion,” he said.
“Even during such a dangerous pandemic, some of our citizens keep writing letters to me, asking for permission to host a toi. We are in the middle of a tough fight. Therefore, hard work should become our main task and a new way of life. We now need to think consciously. We live in the era of reason, science, education and hard work,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed.
