China will send a group of medical staff to Kazakhstan to support Kazakhstani doctors in their efforts to combat COVID-19, Toppress.kz reports with reference to Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mission of Chinese delegation consisting of highly qualified doctors with great experience in preventive coronavirus measures and treatment of infected patients is to render a consultancy medical assistance for Kazakhstani doctors who fight COVID-19 as well as to introduce Chinese mechanism of preventive measures and COVID-19 control, methods of investigation and isolation of close contacted people and give recommendations according to the current clinical protocols, etc.
The initiative was proposed by Kazakhstani side aiming to execute arrangement reached during the phone call between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of PRC Xi Jinping on 24 March. The arrangement was about extensive support from China to Kazakhstan in its efforts to combat coronavirus infection COVID-19.
On 7 April there was an online meeting with representatives of PRC Healthcare committee and Chinese doctors chaired by Vice-Minister of Healthcare of Kazakhstan Aktayeva earlier this day.
During online meeting the sides discussed in detail the program of Chinese delegation of 13 experts of the following fields: pulmonology, infection, intensive care, epidemiology, public healthcare and others in Kazakhstan. They also agreed on preferred areas of cooperation, prevailing training topics on COVID-19 for Kazakhstani doctors and the logistics questions.
There will be a special board organized for the doctors from China in the beginning of April with arrival to Nur-Sultan.
Flight is scheduled on 9 April.
In addition, the second part of humanitarian aid is expected from PRC.
