Small grants competition has been announced in Kazakhstan as part of the nationwide project “BIRGEMIZ: TAZA ÁLEM” aimed to support individual citizens' efforts (voluntary mission) and volunteer initiatives in solving specific tasks of protecting the environment, cleaning rivers and forests, planting trees and learning how to sort waste, Toppress.kz reports.
Within the framework of the competition 68 winners will be determined to receive mini-grants of 300 000 (three hundred thousand) tenge for the implementation of their volunteer initiatives.
The competition is held within the framework of the grant “Implementation of the national project “Birgemiz: Taza Álem” to attract volunteers to projects for environmental protection, cleaning rivers and forests, planting trees, training for sorting garbage” by Nongovernmental stock company “Center for Support of Civil Initiatives” with the support of the Ministry of Information and Public development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Private individuals, initiative groups, as well as non-governmental organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan are allowed to participate in the small grants competition.
