“Concerning tight political, economic, social and historical ties between our countries, confirming adherence to the aims and principles of the Eurasian Economic Union agreement as of 29 May 2014, taking into consideration that COVID-19 was announced as the pandemic by World Health Organization and characterized as extraordinary situation in the field of public healthcare of global importance, which leads to considerable population mobility fall, complicates trade of products and services, creates volatility in global financial and commodity markets, creates disintegration risks for the world and regional economies, stressing the importance to support the citizens of our states and collective efforts of the world society to provide health and wellbeing of people during COVID-19 pandemic and to mitigate negative consequences for economy, determining to unite the efforts of joint riposte of this threat. We as members of Supreme Eurasian Economic Council proclaim the following:
Confirm the readiness to continue the solid work on combating negative consequences of COVID-19 pandemic, keeping the existing level of integrative cooperation and further economic development of member states of Eurasian Economic Union, supply of social and macroeconomic stability in our countries, support business and investment activities.
“We firmly believe that the fight of COVID-19 pandemic should not tear up well-established cooperation connections, suspend international trade and terminate business activity.
We urge all countries to support international cooperation, strengthen the trust, end military conflicts, trade wars, one-sided financial and economic sanctions and to follow strictly the norms of international law.
We are for the unity of international community and stability of world economy, maintenance of socially important goods, products, medical equipment and medicines, medical protection tools. The operational and systematic measures taken by our countries are set to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on the economy of our states and provide the functioning of the united economic territory. We are aware of the limitations taken to combat COVID-19. When the threat for the life and health of people will be diminished, the impelled measures will be canceled.
“n the framework of the fight with COVID-19 pandemic we are focused to continue rendering a help to each other, strengthening healthcare systems, conducting joint scientific research in the field of elaboration of prevention measures, diagnostics and infection treatment, improving the methods of cooperation on epidemic reaction.
We assign governments, central (national) banks of the member states of Eurasian Economic Union and Eurasian Economic commission to implement coordinative measures to prevent and terminate the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, strengthen our economic cooperation, maintain stability in internal as well as food markets, support the citizens of our states and business to get through negative consequences of COVID-19 pandemic. We strongly believe that advantages of integration will help our countries and our nations to overcome this trial,” – noted in the statement.
