12 April 2020, an intersessional meeting of Ministers of oil-producing countries of OPEC+ was held, Kazinform reports referring to the press service of Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
During the videoconference Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev declared that Kazakhstan remains committed to a constructive dialogue and within difficult situation on the world market is ready to participate in collective reduction of oil extraction.
Following the ministerial webinar of OPEC + member and non-member countries, an agreement was signed to reduce oil production by 9.7 million barrels per day for two months from May 1. Kazakhstan, in turn, supported the consensus in the agreement.
