Following the official ceremony, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting with Ambassador of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kaletayev.
At the meeting Ambassador Kaletayev stressed Kazakhstan will continue to develop pragmatic cooperation with Ukraine on a wide range of issues. He highlighted close historical ties between the two countries and significant potential for further enhancement of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Vladimir Zelensky, for his part, expressed gratitude to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the support and prompt delivery of medical supplies from China to Ukraine. He praised the important steps taken by Kazakhstan to prevent further spread of COVID-19 and thanked the country for its help in returning Ukrainian citizens amid coronavirus outbreak. President Zelensky added that the fight against the pandemic should not obstruct further deepening of mutually beneficial relations between the two states.
The parties also discussed the implementation of several large investment projects in engineering, agriculture, IT industry and the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
