In Nur-Sultan and Almaty QOLDA emergency assistance project is launched. It aims to minimize a negative impact of the quarantine on the population through civil society involvement, improvement of the efforts control of public and volunteer organizations, raising public awareness through media.
Applications are open for submission from 15 till 19 April 2020. The applicants of this competition are NGOs, rendering volunteer, humanitarian and charity help to the population, as well as media, which cover the situation on COVID-19.
The total grant fund for public organizations is 24 million tenge. In average the amount of individual grant is 2 400 000 tenge per organization, however, the final amount will be defined based on the applications submitted. It is planned to finance about 10 projects of public organizations working on humanitarian help, supporting vulnerable population, ready to contribute to the coordination of volunteer activities and volunteer organizations, including IT solutions at their work.
The total amount of financial support for the media is 8 750 000 tenge. Average amount of financial support will be 1 750 000 tenge per project, the final amount of the support will be defined on the basis of the applications. Up to 5 media projects will be supported to increase the acknowledgement of population on positive influence and negative consequences of the pandemic in various fields and popularization of the support measures from public organizations, population, government and business in the period of pandemic.
The period of project realization is up to 4 months from 25 April till 31 August 2020.
For participation in the project it is necessary to fill out a short online application until 19 April 2020 inclusive. The results will be announced on 21 April 2020.
