On April 27, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the state of emergency in Kazakhstan will be extended until May 11, Toppress.kz correspondent reports citing the President’s official web site.
Given the current situation in our country and on the basis of a proposal by the State Commission and experts, I decided to sign a decree on the extension of the state of emergency until May 11, 2020. According to the decree, the state of emergency will be lifted on May 11, unless, of course, a new massive outbreak of the epidemic occurs, he said.
At the same time, the State Commission is ready to ease off lockdown measures in those regions and cities where the situation with the spread of the virus is under control.
The State Commission was tasked to come up with the list of organizations that will start their work in all regions of the country following the example of the capital. First of all, these are industrial enterprises, construction and road-building companies, transport companies, banks, public service centers. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure compliance with all sanitary standards, conduct regular disinfection of workplaces. People should keep adhering to the rules of social distancing,Tokayev said.
However, partial easing of quarantine can not be seen as a return to the former way of life, the address reads. Shopping malls and entertainment centers, cinemas, restaurants, parks and other crowded places will remain closed. Universities, colleges, and schools will still be teaching online.
