In a month, 628 people died of pneumonia in Kazakhstan, chief sanitary doctor of Kazakhstan Aizhan Yesmagambetova said at a press briefing on July 3, Toppress.kz correspondent reports.
“Comparing the pneumonia mortality rate over the six months of 2019 and the same period of 2020, I should say it has not changed much. In the first half of 2019 there were 1,780 cases of pneumonia in the country, while in 2020 – 1,772. At the same time, in June this year the mortality from pneumonia increased and amounted to 628. As for the incidence of pneumonia, it has increased by 55 percent in 2020, and in fact there has been a 4-fold increase in June,” she concluded.
