On July 7, Kazakhstan’s government introduced a three-year moratorium on the purchase of office vehicles and furniture for all government agencies and quasi-public corporations, Toppress.kz correspondent reports citing sputniknews.kz.
The measure has been taken in an attempt of the Ministry of Finance to optimize the country’s budget until 2023. The republican budget has been adjusted in order to spend available funds in a more efficient manner, the Ministry said.
According to the official statement, 532.8 billion tenge that was saved this year as a result of budget optimization has been spent on combating COVID-19, preventing negative consequences of the pandemic, and supporting citizens and businesses.
Having reviewed macroeconomic forecasts for 2021-2025, the Ministry of Finance has adjusted the republican budget for 2021-2023, which enabled the government to save 6.4 trillion tenge.
