On August 11, Prime Minister Askar Mamin chaired a regular government meeting, addressing the progress in implementing anti-epidemic measures in Kazakhstan, Toppress.kz reports citing Primeminister.kz.
During the meeting, Minister of Health Alexey Tsoi noted within the past 10 days the average reproduction rate of coronavirus, which is the average number of people an infected person passes on the virus, has decreased from 0.92 to 0.82. The number of those who recovered has reached 73.6%, the rest still receiving treatment. Hospital bed occupancy decreased by 61%, the number of medical emergency calls dropped by 62% (from 3,232 to 1,232).
“Overall, sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country is stable. The results are indicating that measures taken by the government have been effective,” Prime Minister Mamin said.
Closing the meeting, he instructed the Ministry of Health to submit for consideration to the State Commission a plan for phased lifting of the quarantine restrictions in the country.
