According to a decision of the inter-departmental commission on counteraction to coronavirus, police checkpoints and roadblocks will not be established in Almaty region. Due to the fact that the swimming season begins on June 13, all roads leading to the coast of Kapchagai reservoir will be closed. Over the past weekend, we observed a large concentration of people on the coast of the Kapchagai reservoir, Almaty regional akimat (mayor’s office) stated.
There will remain one mobile security checkpoint with police officers close to Zhetygen and the second one along the highway, which is adjacent to the reservoir. Otherwise, everything will work as usual, the akimat said.
