Minister of Healthcare Yelzhan Birtanov entrusted to create a special commission on compensating medical workers of Almaty central state clinical hospital (CSCH), Toppress.kz reports referring to Tengrinews.kz.
On his Facebook page the Head of Healthcare Ministry Yelzhan Birtanov informed that he conducted online meeting with Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, head of the management of healthcare of Almaty, representatives of labor union organizations of healthcare and medical staff of the hospital.
I offered colleagues once again to pay attention on the order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population as of 9 April 2020, which enables to create commissions to study the circumstances of additional payments for medical workers of the front line infected at their workplace and to make the final resolution, – he said.
He added that the payments will be defined according to the decisions of these commissions. Then the lists of coronavirus infected staff will be handed over the Main office of “Government for citizens”.
The independent commission consists of akimat representatives, territorial subsection (represented by chief state sanitary doctors of the region, the city of republican significance and the capital), local body of state healthcare management, (…) NGOs, representing the interests of medical workers. I appeal to the leaders of public opinion and journalists to become the members of this discussion. The key is the transparency during the situation solution, – Birtanov wrote.
According to his words, medical workers should not lose their wages while being in quarantine.
It’s important to note that the chairman of the commission is elected from the members of the commission by voting with the majority of the member votes. The rank of chairman of the commission should be assigned from the officials not lower than akim deputy. Only after the decision of this commission is done the final objective measures on payments will be adopted, – informed the minister and added that the issue should be solved as soon as possible.
Birtanov also commented on the shortage of protective suits – the investigation will be conducted.
Dear medical colleagues, I beg you to keep patience until we get the results from the commission, you are in quarantine now and undergoing the treatment. Please take more care of your health and all precautious measures until your total recovery! The country needs you, – he concluded.
Recalling the fact that about 200 doctors were infected with coronavirus in CSCH, they had written it in the social media, informing that they were infected at work by contacting with infected patients. The chief doctor of CSCH Almaz Dzhuvashev was fired.
The source of infection could be the patient, who undertook MRT procedure in the end of March. Further he contacted with the doctor and the nurse of the department.
Chief city doctor Aizat Moldagassimova assumes the fact that the doctors were not fully cautious and came to work with high temperature. Medical workers replied on the claim by writing the letter to the head of the state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev asking to pay attention to the situation.
