More than 6,000 citizens of Kazakhstan will be evacuated during the state of emergency and quarantine in the country, Minister of Information and Social Development Dauren Abayev said at a press briefing on April 27.
At the moment 175,000 citizens of Kazakhstan remain abroad. Many of them express a desire to come back. As the head of state mentioned earlier, the government will not leave anyone in the lurch. We will evacuate everyone who wants get back to the country, he said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently working on this issue, Minister Abayev added. In his words, even some highly developed countries refuse to provide treatment and medical insurance for their citizens.
We are going to evacuate 179 students and schoolchildren from the US, 65 citizens from Poland, 28 from Israel and more than 6,000 Kazakhstanis from Russia. We are also working on returning citizens from other countries, he said.
